It is currently 0:20, which I would assume means 12:20 according to my computer and i felt it was time to write a post so bear with me…

Lately Ive been going to the beach, something Im sadly not very accustumed to doing regularly despite the many beautiful beaches that this country has to offer. Now this hasnt always been like this. When I was a small child I would spend quite a bit of time at the beach in Bocas del Toro, rolling around in the sand and making castles out of said sand. Alas, when I moved to the city my beach expeditions became few and far between, till I reached the pasty white complexion that is characteristic of me.

This doesnt mean I hate the beach, on the contrary, it brings me fond memories and I wish I could spend more time going there, the ocean is oddly soothing… Well maybe not oddly but soothing nevertheless, I digress… So lately Ive been going more to the beach and Ive encountered more than one person who has told me Im a lousy Bocatoreño. There are many reasons behind this of course, Im as white as a marshmellow, as soft as one, I dont eat turtle, I fish but Im lousy at it, and I in no way look or sound Caribbean. But what I believe is the main reason for this statement is this: I do not surf. Take a moment if you will to assimilate all this. Ready? Ok, lets move on.

The reason for my non-surfyness is simple, Im a terrible swimmer and Im honestly very much terrified of drowning. Most people seem to have a problem with this because it fits into the cliche of what an islander is all about, and I happily am the contrary of that cliche. I dont surf, I dont wanna surf, I applaud anyone with the balls to jump into the shark infested oceans to glide gracefully over jagged rocks while being pummeled by the tide but its just not for me. Me? Im a skater at heart and even though my legs wont allow me to get back on a board for a while I still enjoy the sport. Call me a pussy if you will for not having the nuts to go out and dare the fierce sea, The reality is that as much as I enjoy the sea I will more than likely remain reazonably fearful of it for the rest of my life, and Im quite content with that. Ill be watching the surf from the shore.

P.S.  I dont dance either…

Im not an evolved human being. I say this because I had 2 of my wisdom teeth removed today, 2 out of 4 teeth that seem to be there solely to cause me, and every other human who has them, pain. Its not as terrible now as i remember but its still annoying and it forces me to stay home and avoid some of the things I like the most, like food.

Suddenly I have every craving imaginable, but I cant have any of the foods that I really want, I want nachos, pizza, crispy bacon, and for some reason, ice. I obviously cant have any of these things because they would force me into tears, all of this till sometime next week when my mouth heals and I can eat human food once again. It just shows that things happen at the worse possible times, but it was a concious choice of mine to get the teeth removed this week. Next week is my birthday (seriously guys, prismacolors) and I wouldnt wanna start the 20th year of my life with pain and bleeding.

Finally Id like to say to all panamanians, 300 opens today, go watch it. Im waiting till wednesday for a few reasons:

1. Half price, gotta love that

2. seriously guys, wisdom teeth…

3. Im broke (cheap).

I do expect the movie to be thoroughly awesome and Rob and the gang are watching the movie tonight, look for a review soon

The rest of the portodiao crew has been nagging me for a while about the fact that I really havent done much in the past few months, Im gonna change that right now.

Last night we celebrated the birthday of the server at Hooters with cake, beers, wings, and really hot wings (the distinction needs to be made), overall fun was had and laughter was shared but we also discussed some business, notably Matador, if anyone still reads this I suggest you go through that little link.

Rob and Jenny shared their piercing adventures with me last night and it got me thinking that I myself am way overdue for stupid actions and Im thinking about getting an eyebrow piercing, its just a monetary issue at this point. Im also still drawing, somewhat, as I have lost my inspiration (thats for another emo post) and Im trying to get back into the groove but it seems to be taking longer than I had expected.

Finally my  birthday is in two weeks, or April 7 if youre really interested; Money will be accepted aswell as sexual favors and videogames. If you really wanna give me something I can use Im in dire need of some Prismacolor markers.

One more thing, ive been playing WoW (World of Warcraft) over the past few months and all I can say is that the game steals lives! If you enjoy social activities avoid WoW at ALL costs!

Heres a little something I cooked up the other night at Beers and Blogs 2 just to stretch the art muscle, gonna clean it up once I reinstall Photoshop

So Im sitting at college today (the reason for the lack of posts, and art) when all of a sudden someone tells me to look atop the bridge. And lo and behold the most blatant proof of stupidity if I have ever seen it, two jackasses atop the bridge (puente de las americas) with flags protesting. Now Im all for reasonable protest and with elections only getting closer I am mentally prepared for protests and closed streets now and again. At first I was amused by the bridge antics but then it started to get irritating, and with my frustration grew my desire to see one of the men jump off or “fall”. Now that may be cruel-ish but its only fair, its good entertainment, this desire was only fueled after a friend told me they should set themselves on fire. Now THAT would be a protest!

Im gonna keep it short because Im sure you can read all about it in the news but the jackasses werent even protesting the canal expansion, I found out when I got home that they were actually cab drivers who had been working on getting a permit for quite some time now and because they were denied the permit on the account that there are no more slots vacant to be allowed permits they decide to climb up the bridge to protest and get them the hard way. Now this irks me, and its a classic example of panamanian backwards logic. If something doesnt work then by God, regardless of how petty my problem is the government will fix it or I will be pissed. Honestly man, over a permit?! Did you really think you were gonna have the president of the country below you begging you to come down and hand you a taxi permit? Its ridiculous. While I will admit that a government should help its citizens this just borders on the moronic, there are bigger issues out there and you cant possibly expect, as an adult, that someone else will fix your problems for you.

Next time taxi dude make it more interesting for us college dwellers and light yourself on fire while falling from the bridge, wresteling a winged shark on your way down perhaps. The scenario is definitely more likely to happen than what you were expecting.

So Jen gets hatemail now and I dont?! Where are all the idiots and assholes of the internet when you need em?

Cmon add some comments, atleast tell me what I need to do to tickle your hate bone… Me kicking puppies? Should I profess my hate for corporate America and all things Bush? Vampírism? Or should I just skip ahead to the pictures of me drinking cloned baby blood?!

You people can do better, atleast a “fuck you” would suffice…

It was a great time to tell you the truth, being a ninja is exhausting and the j-spot people were really kind to us, raffle didnt work quite as we expected but thats no biggie, it was all good fun

If youve read Rob´s blog then you mightve read that porto diao has something very big coming up, Im in charge of designing a few things and Ill post em here as progress goes along. Im amazingly ahead of myself on this one which means that unless I get struck by lightning or my drawing hand breaks I should be able to finish this by next week at most.

I have other things to write about but theyre gonna have to wait a little bit till I can actually write down the words appropriately.

Granted California isnt all that big in comparison to say, Texas, but its still pretty damn big when we talk about headaches…

Classes start tomorrow, which means Ill be drawing more and I want to scan some stuff in right now but my headache is not allowing me to even move. Suck ass, tomorrow is gonna be a long day, college early in the morning and then I have to go run a few errands and say goodbye to a few people. Ill write something worthwhile eventually =P

I caught the 7:00 p.m. showing of “Miami Vice” today, I swear Sonny did nothing all movie but fuck and drink, sure he shot one guy b ut that in no way makes up for lazy cop work… The movie was ok overall, I might write a review later on when I feel verbose.

Met some of the people from the portodiao network tonight, so far I had only met Rob and weve been buddies for well over a year now I think. Today I met some more people from the network so it was kinda weird to see people whom Ive only met from their writing, kinda cool, gotta hang with them more =P

Tonight I said goodbye to another good friend of mine, tomorrow I gotta do the same thing all over again. I dont think Im strong enough to keep doing this all week, gotta try not to cry.

In art news (Rob and I are the multitaskers of the network after all) Ive done a few portraits and sketches and Im currently working on a series of drawings based on pictures done by my brother sfmoe starting with “Falling” Ill post scans of that as soon as I get my sketchbook back because I accidentally left it at Bert´s… Dummy me.
